DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BROTHERS: stefan basically admitted that fighting his bloodlust would not be worth it if it werent for elena so he wouldn’t do it for himself, he would just do it for elena damon doesn’t want to change just so elena will love him, he wants to change for himself and he also wants her to accept him just the way he is

So I had an epiphany just now about 3x14.

I don’t know if I’m actually delusional or if this is actually legitimate, but when I watched Dangerous Liasons I couldn’t help but notice that the SE porch scene (ugh) was shot from a different angle than the DE porch scenes.

Now, as we know, the porch is DE territory. Sacred. Therefore I was annoyed and insulted that SE was infringing upon what even Julie Plec has established as “Delena territory”. (Not quoting exactly but she has mentioned that many of their significant scenes have taken place there).

When I thought about why the camera angles were so weird, all of a sudden I realized that…it all comes down to the metaphor of home.

In the SE scene in 3x14, Elena LEFT her home to go OUTSIDE to talk to Stefan.

But with all the DE scenes, Damon is always bringing her back home. Always.

Final post on the whole TVD triangle and why I am so bitter about what happened in 3x14.

DE angst I am fine with. What Elena said to Damon, I expected something like this for a while. Didn’t make it hurt any less, but it’s a necessary step in their relationship and development and I’m glad it finally happened.

However, the SE scene made me beyond furious. Why?

Because in season 2, when Damon killed Jeremy, it took an entire season for Elena to forgive him….and he was dying anyways so really, it might have taken even longer if not for that.
And Elena understood why he did it, because “he wants to be hated, it’s easier that way”. Because Damon loves her so much that her rejection devastated him to the bone. Love is his achilles’ heel and in that night he was rejected by the 2 women he loved so much.
Likewise, when Damon forced his blood down her throat, he did it because he LOVES her and couldn’t bear to see her die.

However, when Stefan forces his blood down her throat and tries to throw her off Wickery Bridge, i.e. the same bridge that her PARENTS DIED ON, he does it not because he loves her but because he wants to get vengeance on Klaus. Seriously??? And then when Elena is sobbing on the bridge shes like “are you doing this so that I will hate you??” and then he just leaves her there for Damon to pick up. SERIOUSLY??!??!?!

So of course, instead of DE where we have to wait an entire season for some decent scenes, Elena, after only THREE FUCKING EPISODES, is already begging to be back in Stefan’s arms and desperately wanting to kiss him. After what Stefan did to her, which I would argue is much worse than what Damon ever did in season 2.

And this is why I am so fucking bitter. DE being destroyed I am fine with, but DE being destroyed WHILE SE is being built in completely OOC and non-coherent ways? This I do not like.

The SE relationship absolutely destroys Elena’s character. And it does so to Stefan as well. I like Stefan and I love Elena but them together does not work. They deserve better than one another.


I am not buying this. SE has never made sense to me and never will. No need to assassinate characters for the sake of this colossally stupid relationship.

Because the message I am getting is that “no matter what your first love does to you no matter if he abuses you like no other STILL GO BACK TO HIM AND IGNORE HIS BROTHER, WHO WILL MOVE MOUNTAINS FOR YOU AND KILL ANYTHING FOR YOU INCLUDING HIMSELF AND WHO WILL LOVE YOU AND TREAT YOU FAR BETTER THAN YOUR FIRST LOVE EVER WILL.”

Also, the webclip is terrible. It’s season 2 deja vu all over again, with Stefan being a condescending ass towards Damon and them fighting over Elena like she’s some sort of prize.

I do not buy this. I am a DS fan but this isn’t even DS anymore. This is the writers failing at writing the triangle.

This is Elena’s version of the JNSI. Kind of.

I mean, Damon did something terrible to her in 2x01. The worst. It’s only fair that Elena does something terrible to him too.

DE angst and pain I have no problem with.

What i do have a problem with however is how they assassinate her character by having her forgive Stefan and being all lovey with him after he tries to drive her off of Wickery Bridge just THREE EPISODES AGO.

Yet when JNSI happened, it took an entire season for DE to finally make peace with one another, and that was only cause Damon was dying.

But noooo, with Stelena, everything is epic and rainbows and butterflies.

Well pardon my French but my butthole is more epic than SE.

I mean don’t get me wrong, I love the writers and everything but sometimes I just really don’t understand why they write certain scenes the way they do. Can’t they see that this is making Elena look awful? Love my homegirl but this writing is making me SMH.
